| ORACLE is expanding in Ghana due to the country’s stability and the growth of the IT industry. In light of this, they rented a space in an existing office building with enough room to expand and wanted an interior office space that expressed the Oracle Brand in a youthful and inviting manner in line with their brand image. OOA partnered with HOK (UK) and took over the design development and Construction stage as well as the supervision stage till practical completion in February 2016. The office is located in the second floor in Icon house, Airport City Accra which was developed by a private developer for commercial and office space rental.
HOK’s design concept was based on the philosophy of “Hardware and software engineered to work together”. The inspiration was Oracle itself, its work processes and functions, creating spaces which combine the two parts of Oracle’s core business hardware and software and the common link between them. Technology represented through lines and geometric shapes fusing together hardware, software and the brand identity. There are various elements that stand out including carpet design and light fittings but the most noticeable feature is the timber paneling in the public area that captures warmth and modern design in one element. Materials sourced for the interior fit out where from green certified companies such as Armstrong for ceiling and Interface for the carpets.
